Reporting Crimes by Voice Message or E-mail in an emergency you should always dial 999. However, for some non-emergency minor crimes, the police have set up a secure e-mail based crime reporting system which is designed to handle the following crimes only:
Theft from a motor vehicle
Damage to a motor vehicle
To use this method of reporting, visit www.police.uk and select the link to Non-Emergency Minor Crime Notification.
For all other crimes, please contact your local station using the above phone number. As officers are now all issued with mobile phones, you may, when contacting the call centre, ask to leave a voicemail message for a named officer who will be required to check this twice per tour of duty.
